My Favorite Jackets for Fall & Winter 2020

Brrrrr! This California girl can’t handle temperatures below 75 degrees. No really, I’m literally allergic to the cold; maybe more on that later. But as we transition from Fall to Winter I’ve been reaching for the same few pieces pretty consistently stay warm and cute.

We’ll work from lightweight to heavy, hopefully covering all your cold weather needs. Some of these pieces I’ve had for a while, so they’re out of stock. But, never fear, I’ve linked similars for everything too. Enjoy!

1. Cord Shacket

This lightweight shirt+jacket ( = shacket, get it?) is perfect for those warmer autumn days. The cord material screams cozy vibes and if you go for the oversized look, layering is super easy. This one is sold out but here are some similars.

2. Faux-Leather Shacket

Leather is all the rage this fall but spare the animals by grabbing a faux-leather shacket instead. This piece can be dressed up or down making, it a great wardrobe staple. I went with a crop top, baggy jeans, and boots but it’d be perfect with a mono-tone sweat set and sneakers.

3. Camel Coat

Next, for everyday, we have the camel wrap coat. I went for the lightweight, polyester version but there are similar, heavier versions as well. This coat is great for layering on chiller days and the neutral tone allows you to style it with just about anything.

4. Sherpa Coat

Never be afraid to check the men’s department! This coat is a personal favorite and I wear it almost every single day. Although it’s pretty neutral, the subtle damask pattern adds some intrigue and color. And the sherpa material gives all the cozy feels, perfect for Fall and Winter. Mine is sold out, but here are some similars.

5. Sherpa-Lined, Denim Jacket

Another look to give off cozy vibes. This jacket screams, “cold weather is coming” while still being lightweight enough for a colder Fall day without looking out of season. If you can find one second-hand, I’d recommend it at least from a pricing standpoint, but here are some similars.

6. Puffer Jacket

Now we’ve reached full Winter mode. Puffers are super on trend this season (and every season in my opinion). And the best part, you can get the look but still keep it lightweight. Because of their popularity, there are tons of variations out there to choose from. I went for a pop of color and medium warmth with my yellow puffer, but I also have a black one, that’s even lighter and much more everyday.

7. Reversibile Faux-Fur Coat

Finally, we have the all-time Winter staple, a big (faux) fur coat. I snagged mine last season to tackle the 30 and below weather in South Korea. Not only did it keep me warm, but the reversible checker bonded side allows me to get two looks for the price of one. Sadly, it’s sold out, but here are some similars.
